The 16th US-Japan Symposium on Drug Delivery Systems
The US-Japan Symposium on Drug Delivery Systems offers presentations by researchers from a number of disciplines, from the life sciences to engineering, who will address a range of topics including peptide and protein delivery, gene delivery, cell delivery, vaccines, transdermals, pulmonary delivery, new materials, and other subjects, from varied disciplines while focusing on the central theme of drug delivery. The Symposium offers a unique opportunity for interaction and networking among attendees from academia and industry.

The conference will offer morning plenary sessions, evening plenary sessions, and poster sessions. Morning sessions are scheduled from approximately 8:00 a.m. to noon. Afternoons are left open for your leisure pursuits. Evening sessions are scheduled from approximately 7:00 p.m to 10:00 p.m. The plenary session speakers are selected by symposium chairmen on an invitation-only basis. The plenary session features presentations from academic and industrial leaders in the drug delivery field. The symposium is well-known for the important scientific inquiries and discussions held during the plenary and poster sessions. The symposium also provides extensive opportunities for academic and business discussions, networking, and negotiations that begin at the conference site and continue long after the meeting. Call for Abstracts – October 14, 2024 Acceptance into the poster session also provides the opportunity to be selected to give a five-minute presentation during one of the conference evening poster sessions (followed by five minutes of questions & answers). If you would like to be considered for an oral presentation, please come prepared with a five-minute presentation on your laptop. Selections for these oral presentations are decided and announced at the conference. The poster boards are 4 feet (high/vertical) by 8 feet (long/horizontal) (1.22 m x 2.44m), and you will be using one side of a double-sided board. Your poster must fit within this size board and it may be one large poster or several smaller posters, providing that it does not exceed these dimensions.
We do not accept credit card or other personal identification information via email. Registration prior to the conference start date is strongly encouraged. Please check-in at the onsite registration on Sunday, December 15th, between 2:30 and 5:30 p.m. to obtain your conference pass and materials and to complete your online registration if it has not been done previously. Cancellation Policy: There is a $100 non-refundable fee. Prior to Sunday, October 1, 2024, the registration fee minus $100 will be refunded. After Sunday, October 1, 2024, there are no refunds. Substitutions may be made. Meeting registration includes access to all sessions, the welcome reception, coffee breaks, and one printed abstract book per registrant. Sessions will be held in the mornings and evenings, with afternoons unscheduled, so that you can plan your leisure activities independently.
The symposium will be held at the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa. We have a limited number of rooms blocked at special symposium rates, including Resort View, Golf/Mountain View, Partial Ocean View, and Deluxe Ocean View. When reserving your room(s), please ask to be included in the 16th US-Japan Symposium on Drug Delivery Systems group. [Online Hotel Reservations] Group rates are available until the cut-off date of November 14, 2024 or until the conference block has been filled. After the cut-off date, all rooms within the group’s contracted guest room block that have not been reserved will be returned to the hotel’s general inventory. Reservation requests for rooms after 11/14/24 or once the block has been filled will be based on availability at Hotel’s prevailing rates; the group rate will not be available. Name changes on, or other transfers of room reservations will not be accepted after the cut-off date of 11/14/24. Meals are not provided by the conference other than the welcome reception and coffee breaks. Attendees are personally responsible for their own travel expenses, including meals, airfare, hotel accommodations, transportation, and any other travel expenses.
